Head injury and sexual difficulties!

If you have a head injury, is this going to affect your sexual performance? I recently hit my head on the pole and in the past few days I have low sex drive. Before that I have normal sex drive and I am in the mood every other day. I am currently taking some medication for the pain.

Traumatic injury to the brain can have direct affect on a person sexual performance. Head injury such as blow to the head or brain injury caused by infection and lack of oxygen can affect a person sexual performance. Multiple sclerosis is a disease that affects the brain and the nervous system. The disease is caused by a condition where the body’s own immune system attacks the central nervous system affecting a person vision and voluntary movement. Voluntary muscle movements of the body is control by the brain and central nervous system and therefore nerve damage cause by multiple sclerosis affect muscle movement causing problems with moving arms, legs or walking. The disease also affects a person sexual function causing sexual problems with erections in men and women tend to experience vaginal dryness and lack of sexual desire.

It is normal to feel lack of interest in sexual activity sometime as long as it doesn’t lead to distress. As mentioned before hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) is the most common sexual problems experience by most women. Women with HSDD may experience anxiety during sexual interaction and this could lead to distress.

There are different types of treatment for different stages of cervical cancer. Early stage of cervical cancer can be treated with loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP), cryotherapy or laser therapy. LEEP involve the use of electricity to destroy abnormal tissue, cryotherapy involves freezing abnormal cells, and laser therapy uses light to destroy abnormal tissues.

Most of the time advanced stage of cervical cancer is treated with hysterectomy because the cancer has spread to surrounding tissues.
