Diabetes sexual problems!

My family have a history of diabetes and between me and my siblings what are the chances of getting diabetes? I am the elder son, I am in my 20s and do not wish to experience sexual problems cause by diabetes.

People with diabetes have high blood sugar because the body does not produce enough insulin or the cell does not respond to the insulin that is produced and as a result you end up with high blood sugar because the glucose in your body cannot enter the cell without insulin. There are three types of diabetes Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational diabetes.

• Type 1 diabetes produces no insulin at all.
• Type 2 diabetes produces insufficient insulin or the cell does not respond to the insulin that is produced.
• Gestational diabetes is developed during pregnancy.

Type 1 diabetes is inherited and triggered by certain infections. Type 2 diabetes is caused by genetics and lifestyle changes. Men with diabetes may experience sexual problems that include erectile dysfunction and retrograde ejaculation. Women with diabetes may experience lack of vaginal lubrication, low sexual desire and lack of orgasm.
