Syphilis is caused by bacterium called Treponema pallidum and is sexually transmitted between partner. This bacterium survives in moist environment and is highly transmitted through unprotected sexual activity. There are four phases in which the disease progress and each phase have different symptoms associated with it. The condition of the disease becomes more critical as it progress to the fourth phase.
